I'm always right... ha ha

So Zoe has pneumonia (you know how long it took me to figure out how to spell that??)!!
Poor thing. We noticed she had a fever on Sunday, and kept thinking... oh, it will go away. Yet, it kept on hanging on. She started boycotting Tylenol because the particular flavor we had wasn't good enough. Grape! After a huge coughing episode last night, it was determined that she must see a doctor. I'm the paranoid one and I was ready to go to urgent care or something... whatever is open at 10pm. Plus with her asthma, it makes everything twice as bad. We got an appointment for her today and on the way there, Jonathan (who's taking her) calls me and says... no, she seems ok. I don't think I need to take her. What!! After the whole freak out last night? Just take her... pay the copay for my peace of mind that she's ok - plus I know something's wrong (last time he didn't think so and she had a sinus infection... and all the times before that, every time I've taken her, she ends up having croup, pneumonia, bronchitis, or something). So, he goes anyway and waits forever ... love my doctor, but seriously... an hour wait!!?? Turns out she has pneumonia.... see, I'm always right, Honey. :)

Is this too much to share?

This morning I woke up at 5:30... like any Saturday. It's a curse! I couldn't go back to sleep, so I decided to wander on the internet. But, like most, I had to visit the bathroom first. While using the bathroom, I was thinking how wonderful it would be if Zoe slept in... and at the very moment I'm having this thought, in walks Zoe. Yay... hmmm.....

I say to her, "I'll be out in a minute..."

She starts to get tears in her eyes and says, "I sit on your lap."

Ohhh... really? So, on she climbed and we cuddled... all while I'm still sitting on the toilet.

Tantrum

Zoe was getting ready for the hot tub. After I tried to help her unsnap her pants, she went into a rage about how she could do it herself! I couldn't help but laugh because she looked hilarious, and of course I had to take a picture.....

Tag!

Directions: Open up the 6th picture folder on your computer. Post the 6th picture in the folder and tell the story of it. Then tag 6 of your friends.

I've been tagged twice so I figured I'd better do it. We have so many pictures on our computer, starting with files from 1999... so I actually did the 6th of the 6th of the 6th... guess it will work.

I actually ended up on this picture! It's of course Easter, and right after Jonathan and I were married. We were living at his parents' house (now our house). How cute is Hayden!!?? He was only four and in preschool. Oh my gosh... I can't believe he is so gigantic now.
Ok, now for the tagging. If you were tagged already, well... get a move on then! :)
I tag... Katie, Love, Carrol, Donna, Sharon, and Karen!

Too much...

...time has gone by since my last blog. Things keep coming up that I want to blog about, but I've been enjoying reading, tv, family, etc. and haven't taken the time to write... so... here are a couple funny stories about Hayden.

#1 This morning, while Jonathan was hugging Hayden he smelled his hair and realized it probably wasn't washed. Jonathan asked him if he'd washed it... "sshhhh," replied Hayden because he didn't want me to find out. "Take a shower!" says Dad.... Hayden decided he had a better idea. He left the room and returned with Fabreeze... which he sprayed in his hair and proceeded to comb it. (PS... he did end up taking a shower.)

#2 After reading the book Super Baby Food, and making all of Zoe's baby food, I was convinced that pure maple syrup was the best way to go. My family was hooked and loved it. But, it started getting more expensive and in order to cut costs a little at the grocery store, I started buying the artificially flavored. Hayden turned up his nose and refused to eat it. So, for Christmas I bought him his very own bottle. One which only he can use... and he loves it! He loves telling us that we can't have it. Tonight he had pancakes for dinner... I know, yay mom!... and he noticed his syrup was running low. He exclaims, "Oh no... it's running low. I hope it lasts until my birthday!" (His birthday isn't until July.)

Ha ha... He is too much!

Patterns

Many times the days go by, and they go by, and they go by... and the daily hubbub of life becomes monotonous and patterned. It's like the move Groundhog Day....

I get up, wii perhaps, shower, get ready, do lunches, Zoe's "hair and makeup" after running around and bribing her, comment on her extraordinary fashion sense (if I only had a camera 24/7), check up on Hayden, off to school, teach, see the same kids, say the same things, come home, cook something that resembles dinner, put the kids in time out for bothering each other, do baths, reading, homework, bedtimes... and start all over.

You are familiar with this pattern, I'm sure. Within our pattern, my husband and I get lost...It's nice when we find each other again. And time with the kids is too short... not enough when time passes by and all the sudden Zoe's 3 and Hayden's 9. How in the world did that happen?... (and speaking of age, when asked the other day I actually had to do the math... I couldn't remember my own age. Uggg).

I miss my baby Zoe, so fresh and new. I love my little girl Zoe, who says the funniest things and tells me she loves me. (PS... speaking of funny... This morning, Jonathan was pretending to eat her. She kept insisting that he stop, because "I'm not food, Dad. I'm just Zoe!")

I cherrish weekends... as most do... not for the fact that there's a lack of work, but for the enjoyment of spending time, actual time, with my family. I can sit, and watch my beautiful girl and feel blessed she's here. I can talk with Hayden and realize how much I don't know about life. And I can remember how much I love Jonathan... and how much he drives me crazy.

Superbowl Sunday

Having a minute knowledge and like of football, I swore I wouldn't watch the superbowl. Why would I? I have better things to do, right? Well, Aunt Carrol was cookin' it up, including cupcakes, and so I figured why not join the party. My parents were there, as well as my cousin Danny and his wife Sherrie with their two girls Hannah and Rebecca. The boys were still out riding, so I loaded Zoe up and we got some lunch with Grandma and Grandpa first (thanks mom and dad!), then off to Carrol's later for some more food.

I have to admit, that I was actually into the game... and afte I left, I even watched it at home.

Names...

Jonathan got a call from the guy who sold him his new truck. Turns out he wants him to spray his house for weeds... one of Jonathan's many side businesses. He then said, "By the way, how is Wilma?"

"Wilma?" inquires Jonathan.

"Oh, didn't I mention? We named the truck Wilma."

LOL... Jonathan has a truck named Wilma.

As he's explaining this to me, I say..."Hmm.... my van's name is Silvia." I know, random, right? I mean, who seriously names their cars?

"Silvia!!" exclaims Hayden. "More like Saliva. That thing is always dirty."

Ha ha... It's you and Zoe that make it dirty, Hayden. Funny guy...
