I'm sitting at the computer with some quiet time to finally gather my thoughts.. .and I've figured out I don't really have any. It's my reality it seems, that life ceases to flourish when my kids are sleeping in bed and my husband is working outside. ha ha... and I have no books to read, and no attention span to watch something on tv. I guess I need a hobby. Seriously... that's no going to happen though.
I am still on the ... "I need to work out!" ... kick.... but nothing yet. I'll update as needed.
Let's see.... Zoe is truly coming into her own. She is one of the most determined individuals I know. Perhaps it's because she's three and society's standards do not affect her, or quite possibly it's really just her and I have a long read ahead of me... and terrible teenage years. I'm hoping her determination and stubborness (is that even a word?) will really pay off when some guy hits on her way down the road and she can say "beat it...I'm waiting for the right guy"... since she's not dating until 20 something. She knows her mind and is very strong willed.... good qualities, in my opinion. She is daring and mischevious, and will be the firsto break some kind of bone... way before Hayden.
And Hayden... is Hayden. He is strong willed as well, but a little more cautious. He has the world's biggest heart and loves his sister and cat whole heartedly. He is also one of those little guys that falls into the angry adolecents category... apparently it's big in the pre-teen years. yeah... We are all working hard at figuring out emotions and words to put with them. He can't stand school at the moment, but loves to read. So much so that he's banned from bringing his own reading books to his reading class. Ironic, wouldn't you say? He would rather read, aside from playing games... which he would do nonstop if he didn't have limits. I had a college professor who, when he was a teacher, had a student who read constanty. Instead of fighting her, he let her read all the time...in class, during lessons, etc... as long as she stayed caught up and passed exams. Funny... wonder if that would work for Hayden?...Doubtful.
I'm off to find something useful to do... clean? Um, nope. Perhaps I'll find a lost book somewhere...

Cheers
It's no secret that I hate any form of exercise. I have no will power when it comes time to do something, and actually no desire to do it either. I have a wii fit that I did fairly well with for 2 days out of the week for about 1.5 months. The only desire I have is to walk around in some svelt body, with toned muscles, tanned skin, and longer legs - without having to do a thing. None of that is bound to happen anytime soon... I could possibly work up to the toned muscles (last summer I joined Lifetime Fitness with Leslie and after going a few times, I realized I was ok with myself and opted to stay home instead), but let's face it... my legs are as long as they'll ever be, and my skin color..???... well, I joke sometimes and say, "Hey, I used to be clear!"
Anyway, as Jonathan and I were enjoying a some cold "pepsi's" out back this evening, a family exercised on by on the golf course.
"We should be doing that."
"Yes we should."
"Do you want another beer?"
"Cheers!"
But, really... I'm not ok with it at all... I really wish I wanted to do some sort of exercise. I guess I just need to do it like everyone else out there. I have muffin tops. And my hips... well...
All I can say is... cheers!

Easter... again....
Here we are enjoying our fabulous, perfect Easter Sunday... at our house.

Grandma and Aunt Carrol spoiled Zoe and my cousin's girls, Rebecca and Hannah, with tons of eggs to hunt for.
Zoe... super model in the making...??
Our stroll on the golf course....
And no Easter is complete without a potato cannon.

Lately....
Well... it seems that lately I've not been in the mood to blog... or perhaps it's all the books I've been reading, and thus haven't had time to do anything else! Sigh... Jace....
Ok, so here's a catchup on what's been happening....
A couple weeks ago our long lost friend Marc visited in town. He was on our first fourth grade team...Here are Leslie, Kim, Marc and me.... Good times.
The next day we visited our friends for an Easter Bash... wow, was it super cool. They had tables out for the kids to decorate eggs, Einstein Bros. coffee and bagels, plus other goodies. Then, they had about a million eggs for the 20+ kids to hunt for. Even the Easter Bunny made an appearance. This is the first holiday character that Zoe has ever had a picture with... I know, sad, right? The even sadder part is, is that Jonathan got his picture taken with him.... and the saddest part...??? The Easter Bunny turned out to be some 70 year old man that Jonathan squashed when sitting on him... LOL

We decorated eggs... Hayden was forced at first, but then actually got into it. By golly, you will have fun! We tried for sparkle eggs... hee hee SPARKLE.... and the first few worked, the last ones were more like clumps of sparkly goo. It was fun though.

Easter! It was at my house this year, which is nice because we don't need to go anywhere, but then I actually have to clean... I forgot paper plates, so we used every single one we had, even Zoe's plastic ones. Sorry! Tons of fun though. And Grandma and Aunt Carrol spoiled the girls with TONS of eggs to hunt for.
I got a contract.... thank goodness for my job!
I finished the Mortal Instruments series... very good.
Zoe told Jonathan... "You don't know Dad... You don't know nuffin'!" ha ha... at least we're in agreement.
Jonathan was a guest scientist in my classroom to "help" make Oobleck for our solids/liquids unit. OMG... OMG... It was such a disaster that it was almost funny. Almost. He took over and treated these kids like high schoolers, with out step by step directions and all turned to CHAOS. I was all happening so fast that I couldn't even stop him.. it was like I was as step behind him the whole time trying to fix things. Another teacher came in, gasped in shock at the mess, and left laughing. The room looked like a bag of flour had exploded, then someone came along and spritzed it with a water bottle. Even the kids, the chairs, desks, floors, bookshelves. I was near tears. I even borrowed the school vacuum cleaner and vacuumed while the kids read. OMG
And, that's all I can remember as of now... more to come...
