My beautiful kids!

So, as a mom I have the right to think that my kids are the most adorable creatures on earth. We just had some family pics done and they prove that my kids are the cutest! And the most amazing thing is, is that Zoe was actually cooperative.... at least for the first 25 minutes.

Miss Tammy

My first year at Dreaming Summit I taught 4th grade. I was pregnant with Zoe towards the end. The next year, I made an off hand comment to a fabulous parent from the previous year that if she was free, she could watch Zoe. Well... I tricked her by sending her super cute pictures of Zoe and she fell for it. Unfortunately, they had to move away to Texas and leave us... but, she comes every October to celebrate Zoe's birthday and stay with us for a week. She also spoils the kids rotten!

She just left us ... we had a great time with her here, especially Zoe. She's still confused as to why we got rid of her bed, and thinks that she's still on the plane somewhere.

We love you Tammy!!

3 years ago today...

our Zoe came into this world... 4 weeks early! I can't believe it's actually been that long. She is such a big girl now... a kid... no longer a baby or even a toddler. Wowsers! Happy Birthday to my miracle baby! She's the most hilarious person I have ever met.

Tag

The rules are:
~Post the rules on your blog
~Write 6 random things about yourself
~Tag 6 people at the end of your post~If you are tagged, just do it, and pass the tag along!

1. Ok...6 things. Well, I absolutely love popcorn and diet soda. Homemade popcorn... on the stove... with real butter. I could eat it every night. And it's about half the reason I go to see movies, whenever I get that rare chance. Speaking of, I love movies!

2. Speaking of food. I love food. But, I hate to cook. I love other people's cooking - especially my Aunt Carrol's, and I absolutely LOVE potlucks. Amen to those Baptist potlucks!

3. I hate bugs. All kinds of bugs. I can deal with snakes... remember Conrad?... and lizards of all kinds. I've had bearded dragons, iguanas, snakes, geckos, ... what else? Can't remember. I can deal with them, but not those freakin' bugs!

4. Uggg. This is hard. I'm super indecisive when it comes to making decisions when other people are involved. Maybe I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Maybe I just really don't care what the decision is and I want other people to just tell me what to do, where to go, how to do it, etc.

5. On the other hand, I can be very opionated and stubborn. Just ask Jonathan! If it's not my way, then it's probably wrong. And if I feel strongly about something, don't stand in my way. If you do, I'll tell you what I think. This trait has gotten in the way in the past... and I'm working on it. :)

6. I love the reality show Project Runway because it has to do with fashion. I know it may not look like I'm totally into fashion, but I really like the show. Maybe I just like reality shows. And people watching, in general. I used to avoid the library in college because instead of studying or whatever, I'd end up just watching people. I love blogs too... people watching.

I tag...
1. Hayden... yes, Kim, working on him doing it. He's finally back from Hawaii!
2. Karen
3. Bre
4. Katie
5. Ummm... Kim
6. and Love

Yes, I know Kim and Love have already done this (and Katie's been tagged), but honestly I have a small pool of bloggers to tag. :)

Laryngoscopy

This morning our little Zoe had to have a direct laryngoscopy to see why her voice is so hoarse. We assumed it was caused by her breathing treatments she'd been on for her asthma. She's since moved on to Singulair and it was thought her hoarse voice would go away. It didn't so she had to undergo this procedure. It turns out there is a nodule on each of her vocal cords from "over use". So, apparently she doesn't speak from her diaphragm or yells too much. We are supposed to meet with the doctor in another month. Sounds like she might need speech therapy to teach her how to speak "better" so she doesn't strain her vocal cords. Anyway, she did wonderful and is recooperating now while watching Little Mermaid.

Fall Break Fun

So, over the break we have tried to keep busy, but of course not too busy because it IS a break. However, we have an almost 3 year old who doesn't really get the whole relaxing thing. So here are a few of our adventures....

At the park...

Swinging...

Rock Climbing...

Water fun...

A little photo shoot...

And where is Hayden while we are off gallivanting around? Well, I'm sure he's enjoying himself. He's here... with his mom. Lucky! Yes... Hawaii.

Off two church

This morning...

"Dad, get up! We're going church!" instructed Zoe.

"Say to church. We're going to church," corrected Dad.

"No, we're not going two church, we're going one church," explained Zoe.

PS. I am working on my "tagged" list from Kim and Love... Soon... promise!

Picture Update...

Well, even though I have a Flickr account, I can't seem to ever update it. So here's some...

Hayden eating toast, minus the crust.
He's not really into pictures lately so this is the only halfway decent one.

Outside adventures with Zoe:

Capri Sun straw...

Picking Daddy's coveted white flowers that he just grew back... shhh... don't tell him

The joy of picking those flowers.... we might tell him and then show him this picture...

Random thoughts....

So, this working thing is for the birds! I have no time to do anything... my house is not clean... I hardly cooked this week... and then I actually have a little time to blog and nothing interesting comes to mind. Thus, here are some rambling thoughts.

I had parent teacher conferences this week. Actually one more to tomorrow. I love how some parents are very in tune with how their kids perform and behave because they are realists. They agree with all I'm saying and nod with that knowing look that says, "You don't have to tell me. I already know." Then there are those who think that their kids are just "thinkers" and that's why they score so low.. they just don't have time to think about it enough...optimists. I'm glad I'm not delusional. I know my kids are fabulous! :)

Jonathan's an eternal pessimist. Nothing's ever good enough, big enough, loud enough. He sees that people are out to get him. Hayden is that way. He has a reason for not liking everything. Even if he liked it the day before, he doesn't like it today because it... whatever.

I am an eternal optimist. The grass is greener here. Think about how they feel. We are rich because we have family... a house... some money for McDonald's ice cream. Yum.... could totally go for one of those right now.

Zoe, at this age, is an optimist too. I'm guessing most little people are. Hopefully it will stay that way.

More random thoughts... Hayden takes his showers in the morning. Yesterday morning Zoe scared him to death by hopping in with him.... at 6 in the morning. I guess she was going to the bathroom when Hayden walked in on her and got in the shower. Would have loved to see his face! He also took a shower with her last night. We tell him that if he's going to do that, that he has to actually wash her. Since he refused to touch is sister... and she has to do everything herself...his idea of washing her is throwing the soapy shower puff at her a few dozen times until every inch of her body has been touched by soap, including her hair. Yesterday she smelled very distinctly like Old Spice. Must have used Jonathan's soap. Old Spice.

Already driving?

Jonathan and Hayden went riding on Sunday.... Check out their youtube video. Hayden is ecstatic about his turn behind the wheel of the Teryx.
